Sansui-en Original Cocktails

We highly recommend trying the Sanruien Original Cocktail, created by the world’s top bartender.
This cocktail was developed to fulfill one of our hotel’s dreams: to create a signature drink that people will associate with Sanruien in the same way they do with the Singapore Sling, a creation of the Raffles Hotel. It was unveiled in June 2023.

  • Vert Royal

    Yamauchi Kazutoyo, the first lord of the Tosa domain and a figure closely associated with Sansui-en, was known for his harmonious marriage. “It is the love between the two of you that is truly noble.” Perfect for weddings and couples’ anniversaries. This is a drink befitting expressions of gratitude for happiness and vows of love.

    Noble Green (Vert = Green, Royal = Noble)

    Flavor:

    Made with Tosa sake and a splash of yuzu juice, this is a crisp, refreshing, and easy-to-drink cocktail.

  • Emerald Glory

    The Sansui-en logo features the Yamauchi family crest, the three-leaf cypress. The Mitsubishi logo was created by combining this with the Iwasaki Yataro family crest, the three-tiered diamond. The story of Yataro—a man of success, one who makes dreams come true—is captured in this cocktail. May your aspirations take shape. We raise a toast to you.

    Toward Glorious Glory (Emerald = Green Jade, Glory = Glory)

    Flavor:

    An elegant-looking cocktail with a hint of spicy sansho pepper and the refreshing aroma of lime and mint.

  • Shisui

    The name "Sansuien" derives from the "green" of Mt. Fude, where generations of the Yamauchi family are laid to rest; the "green" of the Kagami River, selected as one of the "100 Best Waters of the Heisei Era"; and the "green" of the Japanese garden within Sansuien’s expansive grounds. Inspired by these three shades of green, we have captured the beauty of emerald hues in this glass. This drink is a toast to longevity and happiness.

    A smooth and healthy flavor created by combining matcha liqueur with ingredients such as ginger, a specialty of Kochi.

The recipe developer is Naomi Takahashi, a native of Kochi Prefecture who has earned the title of world champion.

Naomi Takahashi

Born in Kochi Prefecture. In 2013, she won the Pre-Dinner Cocktail category at the World Cocktail Competition in Prague, Czech Republic. She became the first Japanese female bartender to be crowned world champion. She is currently the manager of "BAR Gaslight" in Ginza, Tokyo.
